The Silk Pillowcase and the Pillow Protector serve different purposes, and you can use both at the same time.

The Pillow Protector is water-resistant, zippered, and padded. It helps to keep out moisture and allergens to keep your pillow clean. It is recommended for anyone worried about getting their pillow dirty, and it will do a better job of keeping the pillow clean than a regular pillowcase.

The Silk Pillowcase is valued for its texture, which has benefits for the skin and hair. Silk should be on the outer layer directly against the skin.

What are the dimensions of the Saybrook® Silk Pillowcase?

The Standard/Queen size is 26''x20'' while the King size is 36''x20''. The Saybrook® Silk Pillowcase is designed to fit over the Saybrook® Pillow Protector and Saybrook® Adjustable Pillow.

What are the wash instructions?

For best results, we recommend professional cleaning or hand washing the silk pillowcase with a mild soap in cold water.

You can also put it into a washing machine in cold water on a delicate setting with other delicate items, but avoid items with zippers or anything else that could snag on the fabric, and avoid bleach and fabric softeners.

To dry, we recommend gently squeezing the water out without twisting or wringing. Then, hang dry the pillowcase on a towel rack. 

These wash instructions can supersede the wash instructions on the care label, which conservatively recommend professional cleaning only.

Can the Saybrook® Silk Pillowcase be used in conjunction with the Pillow Protector?

Yes, the Saybrook® Silk Pillowcase can go on top of the Saybrook® Pillow Protector, and both will fit over the Adjustable Pillow. The silk layer on the outside will impart its benefits to the skin and hair while the protective layer on the inside will guard the pillow core against allergens and moisture.

What is 25 Momme silk?

25 Momme is a measure of the weight of silk per square meter, and it can be thought of as similar to thread count. The higher the momme, the heavier the fabric. 25 Momme is considered beyond luxury and at the highest end of the market.

What is Grade 6A silk?

Silk fibers are graded from 3F to 6A, with 6A being the highest possible quality. While momme measures the amount of material per square meter, the grading measures the quality of the material. The Saybrook® Silk Pillowcase uses Grade 6A silk.
