Is the Saybrook® Adjustable Pillow suitable for side-sleepers? Back-sleepers? Belly-sleepers?
Yes, yes, and yes! The Saybrook® pillow can be adjusted to any loft or any firmness level desired, so it can be tailored to the bespoke fit of your preferred sleep style. For side-sleepers, the pillow can be adjusted to fit the shoulder gap and provide perfect support. For back-sleepers, the pillow can be adjusted so that you feel support without having your head pushed too far forward.
How do I adjust the Saybrook® Adjustable Pillow?
Start by unzipping the outer bamboo cover and the inner lining. You can then remove as much filling as you want. The more filling you remove, the lower the loft and the softer the pillow. Most people prefer to remove 1/3 to 1/2 the filling. If you like the loft but find the pillow is too firm, you can remove 2 - 5 additional handfuls of filling and then fluff the pillow back up to a higher loft.
How do I take care of my Saybrook® Adjustable Pillow?
We recommend using a pillowcase on top of the bamboo cover in order to keep the pillow clean. You can also machine-wash the bamboo cover on a delicates setting. We do not recommend washing the memory foam itself because memory foam can take a long time to dry. By using a pillowcase and washing the bamboo cover, the inner foam should not require washing. We also recommend putting the pillow into the dryer on a no-heat, gentle cycle every 2 - 3 months to keep the pillow fluffy.
What is the filling made from?
Saybrook® uses a special blend called Lion Down Alternative®. It is notably not made from real lions or real down as we are a cruelty-free company. Lion Down Alternative® contains precision-cut memory foam, microfiber plumes, and silicone gel beads. The memory foam provides viscoelastic support while the microfiber plumes mimic the softness of down. The silicone gel beads help with passive temperature control.
Is the memory foam CertiPUR-US® certified?
Yes, our memory foam is CertiPUR-US® tested and certified.
What makes the Saybrook® Adjustable Pillow better than other pillows?
The Saybrook® Adjustable Pillow can be adjusted to any loft or any firmness level you desire. Other pillow brands only offer one loft level and firmness level or they offer a selection of options at checkout. The Saybrook Adjustable Pillow can take on the entire range of options that will suit your sleeping preferences and body type, and it can be fine-tuned from the comfort of your own bed. While there are other adjustable pillow brands, we take pride in the quality of our special Lion Down Alternative® fill material and the quality of the bamboo cover to give you the best sleep experience. Poor quality immitations can feel lumpy and uneven, but Lion Down Alternative® provides the consistency you'd expect from a premium pillow.
What are the dimensions of the pillow?
The Standard/Queen size is 26''x18'' while the King size is 36''x18''. The loft is fully adjustable.
Do you recommend using a pillowcase with the pillow?
Yes, we recommend using a pillowcase on top of the bamboo cover to keep the cover protected.
When will my order be shipped?
We try to ship out orders as soon as possible. Please note our distribution center only operates during non-holiday weekdays. Typically, if the order is placed before 1pm ET on a business day, we are able to ship the order the same day or the next business day. During times of extreme volume such as holidays, it may take longer (typically no longer than 3 or 4 business days).
How long will shipping take?
The packages are shipped via UPS Ground® or USPS Parcel Select® if Standard shipping is selected. They ship from our distribution center in Detroit, MI. Depending on the distance from Detroit, MI, transit can take anywhere between 1 - 8 business days, though the carriers do not guarantee these times. Expedited shipping can also be selected for UPS 2nd Day Air® or USPS Priority Mail Express®.
How do I track my order?
Once the package is shipped, you will receive an email with the tracking number. If you are unable to find the shipping notification or order confirmation emails, please check to make sure the email has not been filtered out, and please make sure that you are checking the email that was provided at checkout. By adding us to your contact list, you can ensure that you receive the notification emails.
Can I cancel my order?
Because we ship out orders as quickly as possible, we cannot guarantee that an order can be cancelled. If the order has not yet been packaged, then we can cancel the order. If the order has been packaged but not yet shipped, then we can cancel the order, but the cancellation would incur a $14.95 restock fee. If the order has already been shipped, then it is too late to cancel the order.
Can I change the address after an order has been shipped?
Please work with UPS or USPS to modify the address if an order has already shipped. This is not always possible, and if it is possible, then the carriers may charge a fee. Our customer service team may be able to facilitate in limited circumstances, but we charge an address change fee of $29.95 after an order has already shipped, and we cannot guarantee that we can help in all circumstances.
How long does it take for the pillow to fully expand after unpacking?
The pillow can take up to 24 hours to fully expand, though timing can depend on ambient temperature. In colder temperatures, the pillow may take even longer the expand. We recommend taking the pillow into an area that is at a comfortable room temperature (70 - 80 degrees F) to let it expand. You can also expedite the process by fluffing the pillow manually or in a dryer on a no-heat, gentle cycle for 60 minutes.
How do I keep the pillow fluffy over time?
You can put the pillow into the dryer on a no-heat, gentle cycle for 60 minutes every 3 - 6 months in order to keep it feeling fluffy and lofty over time.
Do you accept returns?
Please see our returns page for full details. We accept returns on product purchases within 30 nights of delivery, limited to one order per customer and two pillows per order. Orders with more than 2 pillows will only be eligible for a refund on 2 pillows. We will either provide a pre-paid return label or require a local drop-off at a location up to 15 miles away from the delivery address on the order, at our discretion. Return shipments or local drop-offs must be completed within 14 days of the return request. Once we have received the return or confirmation of local drop-off, it will take 5 - 10 business days to process the refund to the original payment method. Gift cards are not eligible for a refund. Discount codes requiring a purchase of two pillows will be voided in the case of a partial return. Full details are available on the returns page.
Do returned items re-enter inventory?
We donate lightly used pillows to charity. Used items never re-enter our circulated inventory when purchasing from our site, so all items purchased directly from this site are new.
